Elections

The City of Kyle is divided into three single-member districts (Districts 2, 4, and 6) and four at-large districts (Mayor, and Districts 1, 3, and 5) for election purposes. Every 10 years, the redistricting process takes place in response to Census data. During this process, single-member district boundaries are updated to ensure each has approximately the same number of residents.

Redistricting Timeline:

• June 18, 2024: City Council approved an agreement with Bickerstaff Heath Delgado Acosta LLP to assess the need to realign the City’s single-member districts.
• November 19, 2024: Bickerstaff presented Plan A along with the resolution setting the redistricting criteria. City Council approved the resolution, but requested that Bickerstaff review the growth in the City of Kyle since the census and provide feedback on changes to Plan A to address that growth.
• March 4, 2025: Bickerstaff presented Plan A, noting that available data on population growth in the time since the 2020 Census shows that all areas of Kyle are growing relatively uniformly
• March 29, 2025: City Council and Bickerstaff held a workshop to discuss any requested changes to the proposed district boundaries and recommended changes, which created proposed Plan B.

• April 15, 2025: A Public Hearing was held at the Tuesday, April 15, 2025 City Council Meeting at 7 p.m.

• May 27, 2025: City Council approved Plan B Voting District Map on first reading.
