April 2025 Update:
In April, Alliance Water crews reached major milestones in Kyle. Tunneling was completed, and the final section of pipeline installed, solidifying the connection from Alliance’s Booster Pump Station to the city. Progress continues to flow and more exciting updates are coming soon.

March 2025 Update:
Alliance Water pipeline construction continues to make progress in Kyle.
Last month, Alliance Water crews installed pipes and completed tie-ins along SH 142, CR 166 and FM 158. Crews also finished hand tunneling and will continue to lay pipe north of Bunton Creek toward Dacy Lane.
In the coming weeks, crews will continue inspections on the completed pipeline and perform hydrostatic testing to evaluate its ability to handle pressure and detect possible leaks.
February 2025 Update:
In the coming weeks crews will be seen all over town. Laying pipe North of Lehman High School, pushing pipe through tunnels near Dacy Lane and doing tie-in piping at Marketplace Ave. Ongoing work also includes hand tunneling at Northpoint Development, and tie-ins south of CR 166 towards the Union Pacific Railroad in Maxwell.
Last month, crews working on Segment C continued pipeline installations on either side of the Union Pacific Railroad in Maxwell at SH-142. Crews also worked on hand tunneling under Dacy Lane, open-cut pipe installations through CR 158, and tied in previously skipped areas. Please exercise causing when driving through areas where Alliance Water crews are working.
January 2025 Update:
Starting Friday, January 24 drivers may experience intermittent lane closures on the following roads for delivery of materials for the Alliance Water Pipeline C construction project.
- Bunton Creek Road and Lehman Road Intersection
- Dacy Lane and Seton Parkway Intersection
- Kyle Crossing slightly North of Old Bridge Trail
- Kohlers Crossing near the train tracks
Work hours will be Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. - 6 p.m. Work is estimated to be complete for Kohlers Crossing and Kyle Crossing on Friday, February 7, and Saturday, March 1 for Bunton Creek Road and Dacy Lane. Drivers are asked to obey traffic warning signs and watch out for heavy equipment and flaggers.
December 2024 Update:
On Thursday, December 5, 2024 the City of Kyle celebrated a significant milestone in our commitment to providing long-term water solutions as Alliance Water cut the ribbon on the Carrizo Water Treatment Plant in Robansky, TX. Safe, potable drinking water can now be delivered to the City of Kyle and our Alliance Water partners, the City of San Marcos, the City of Buda, and the Canyon Regional Water Authority.
The ribbon cutting and ongoing construction of Segment C pipeline brings Phase IB of the Alliance Water Project closer to completion. The first delivery of Alliance Water to Kyle is expected in 2025, leading to a 26.7% increase in water capacity for the city.
Alliance Water began construction on the final pipeline, Segment C, of the Carrizo-Wilcox Water Project in May of 2024. At over 20 miles in length, Segment C marks the final segment of the Alliance Water transmission system to begin construction and is anticipated to be completed in Fall 2025.
Construction on the Alliance Water pipeline continues. This month, crews working on the Alliance Water Segment C pipeline completed all micro tunneling and continued installing pipe parallel to CR 158 and through the Sunset Ridge Subdivision.
In the coming weeks, crews are expected to lay pipe under Highway 150 and continue laying about 6,400 feet of pipe Southeast of SH-21. Crews will also hand tunnel under the driveway in the Northpoint Development, which is projected to last many weeks.
November 2024 Update:
Traffic Alert: Intermittent Closures on Kohlers Crossing at Railroad Tracks for Alliance Water Pipeline Installation: Starting on Wednesday, Nov. 6 and going through Friday, Nov. 15 there will be intermittent lane closures on Kohlers Crossing near the railroad tracks for the Alliance Water Pipeline C construction. Closures will take place intermittently to allow delivery of materials. Drivers are asked to obey traffic warning signs and watch out for heavy equipment and flaggers.
October 2024 Update:
This month, crews working on the AllianceWater Segment C pipeline continued installing pipes south of Plum Creek and west of I-35 and completed microtunneling under I-35.
Within the upcoming weeks, they are expecting to lay over 6,000 feet of pipe along CR 158 and Sunset Ridge Road towards FM 150 while hand tunneling activities for various crossings will continue, as well as completing the final microtunnel under the Union Pacific Railroad.
September 2024 Update:
Crews continue to install pipe south of Lehman High School and west of Dacy Lane toward I-35. Soon, crews will move over I-35 to continue installation on the west side.
Microtunneling under I-35 south of Beebee Road is nearly done and expected to be completed in the coming weeks. Hand tunneling will continue at various crossings.
As installation work continues, the 12-inch waterline will soon move onto the next step – hydrostatic testing!
August 2024 Update:
Crews completed the installation of the 12-inch waterline to the east and are now focusing on the larger pipe mains.
After installing pipe under the Lehman High School parking lot last month, crews will now focus on installing pipe to the south of the school. Another crew is laying pipe west of Dacy Lane heading towards I-35. Hand tunneling will continue at various crossings, and microtunneling will begin under the Union Pacific Railroad in Maxwell and under I-35 near Kyle Crossing.
July 2024 Update:
Nearly all of the waterline, shown below in red, has been installed and crews are beginning pipe installation near Lehman High School as they work their way south. Various tunneling and boring activities will take place this month and no road closures are expected.
June 2024 Update:
This month, crews will be conducting environmental surveys, tunnel boring, and clearing sites to begin staging materials, as shown in the image. Upcoming work will include continued staging and preparation for pipe installation.
