Kyle Public Library's Local History Collection is comprised of the three donations listed below. These are available to be viewed by appointment only. Please Book a Librarian to arrange your visit.:

• Althouse Papers – Donated in 2014. Research by Emma Kyle Burleson (Born 1869-1941) and her descendants. Paper files on the Kyle Family Genealogy including summary sheets on individuals and then filed notes, photographs, records, or their copies.
• Dickinson Papers - Donated in 2014. Paper files on the Kyle & Goode Families including photographs, clippings, records or their copies organized in albums and binders.
• Kyle Area Heritage Association Papers. Six scrapbooks and five medium sized archival boxes collecting  photographs and news clippings about the City of Kyle ranging from 1975-2000s.

• Hays Free Press/News Dispatch - Library staff has access to Hays Free Press/News Dispatch e-Edition, full-color scans between 2022-2024. The Hays Free Press Archive for Online Subscribers provides access to papers from 2010-Present.
