2025 Sidewalk Master Plan

At the June 17, 2025 City Council meeting, Kyle City Council unanimously approved the Sidewalk Master Plan.

The comprehensive plan reflects a year-long process involving technical assessments, community engagement, and strategic planning aimed at creating a walkable and connected Kyle.

A Community Driven Vision:

Public input played a critical role in shaping the Sidewalk Master Plan. Engagement efforts included in-person open houses on June 6, 2024, at City Hall and Lehman High School, as well as a virtual survey and interactive map tool. The digital tools attracted 1,141 unique visitors, resulting in 413 completed surveys and 266 map comments.

Residents expressed strong support for a safer and more connected sidewalk network, with a clear preference for pedestrian paths separated from roadways, and strong emphasis on connections to schools, parks, trails, residential neighborhoods, and retail centers. Safety and accessibility were cited as top concerns.

The Sidewalk Master Plan includes targeted planning and policy recommendations, top priority sidewalk segments, cost estimates, and a diversified funding strategy. To see the full plan, visit the Sidewalk Master Plan PDF Page.
